The short version: the Almawqi app collects nothing about you. It has no accounts, no analytics, no advertising, and your location never leaves your device. This website collects your email address, along with the date you joined, your country code and the link you arrived through. No ads, no trackers, no cookies. We never sell any of it.
1.What this site collects
If you enter your email address on this site, we store that address so we can tell you when Almawqi launches and send the occasional build update. We also record the date you joined, the two-letter country code your browser request arrives with, and which link you arrived through, so we know which countries to launch in first and which of our social posts actually reached people. We do not store your IP address, your browser, or any identifier that would let us follow you around.
That address is used to tell you when Almawqi launches, and for the occasional build update before then, while Almawqi is being developed and tested. That includes an invitation to try a pre-release build if you would like to. Nothing else. No newsletter, no drip campaign, no sharing, no selling. Every email we send has a one-click way to be removed, and you can tell us to stop at any time. Once Almawqi has launched and the launch email has gone out, the list is deleted.
The list is held in our own Cloudflare account. It is not handed to a mailing-list company or any other third party. Cloudflare stores it in a small number of central data centres and caches it in its data centres around the world. It is encrypted in transit and at rest, and Cloudflare processes it only on our instructions.
The link you arrived through is just a word in the web address, ?from=tiktok, for example, telling us which of our own posts you tapped. It says nothing about you, and it is stored only alongside your email if you actually sign up.
This site sets no cookies, runs no analytics, and loads no third-party scripts. The one thing it keeps in your browser is that single word, held for the current tab only, so that reading this page and going back does not lose it. It is discarded when you close the tab.
2.The app collects no personal data
The Almawqi app has no user accounts and no sign-up. We operate no server that receives your data, and the app contains no analytics, no advertising, and no third-party tracking SDKs. We do not build a profile of you, and we never sell or rent data to anyone.
3.Location (optional)
If you choose “Detect location” to get local prayer times, the app requests your device location through Google Play Services. Your coordinates are used only on your device, either to choose the nearest official JAKIM prayer-time zone or to calculate prayer times locally. Your location coordinates are never sent to us or to any third party. You can use the app without granting location by selecting your zone or entering times manually. Location provided by Google Play Services is subject to Google’s Privacy Policy.
4.Prayer-time data
To fetch accurate timings, the app sends a request to the Waktu Solat API (api.waktusolat.app), a third-party service that mirrors Malaysia’s JAKIM e-Solat data. The request contains only a coarse prayer-time zone code, an administrative region such as sgr01, plus a calendar year and month. It does not contain your coordinates, your name, or any identifier we assign.
As with any internet request, that provider’s servers receive your device’s IP address. We do not receive, log, or store it. Requests are sent over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection.
5.Data stored on your device
Your settings, alarms, and cached prayer times are stored only on your device. They are not transmitted to us, and uninstalling the app deletes them.
If you have Android backup enabled, your device may include this app’s data in your own Google account backup. That backup is controlled by you and your device settings, not by us.
6.Permissions
The app requests only the permissions its features need: location (optional, for local prayer times), notifications and exact alarms (to alert you at prayer times), and background and boot permissions (so alarms and the clock stay accurate). None of these are used to collect or transmit personal data. The full list is shown on the app’s store listing.
7.Children
Almawqi is a general-audience app and this site is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
8.Changes
If we change this policy, we will update the “Last updated” date above. For material changes, we will note what changed on this page, and in the app or store listing once Almawqi has launched.
